What is a Bonus Supplement?

This contract is a supplement to an employment agreement and complements it with the relevant bonus provisions. It is also possible that provisions on bonuses already exist and are amended by this supplement.

The bonus is usually a variable part of employees’ remuneration and is intended to motivate them to achieve high results or to reward successful performance. Under the bonus agreement, the employer and the employees determine which criteria or targets must be met for the bonus to be awarded (for example, sales targets or personal management skills). Furthermore, parameters for the calculation of the bonus and, if desired, the weighting of the criteria are defined.

In practice, companies often define the bonus conditions in a set of regulations that apply to all or most employees. In such a case, the parties can refer entirely to the bonus regulations or agree on individual provisions.
